There is both a lyrical and melodic warmth that reverberates from the songs created by New York-based collective Every Us. All three of the singles they’ve released so far are carried by this uplifting and soul-energizing spirit. When their debut self-titled EP Every Us arrives next spring — it will emerge as the triumphant culmination of the passionate ethos that’s become synonymous with their music.
Globetrotting artist Ryan Jones sits at the center of the revolving community of singers/songwriters and musicians that comprise Every Us. Throughout last year, he hosted a series of live events that introduced him to over 200 people who shared his goals of using music as a means of fostering community and creativity. Now Jones is using the collective as a means of championing artists across a myriad of genres — from R&B and jazz to folk and even DJs.
Their first single “Someday” is a sensational synthesis of what Every Us seeks to accomplish with their music. What starts out as a brooding attempt by a single voice to escape life’s isolation and stifling hope eventually grows to include a powerful chorus. Held aloft by a surge of drums, joyous claps, and brassy horns, the single transcends sorrow to discover the overwhelming light that lies at the end of the tunnel.
“Fools Gold” arrived not long after — offering up this weightless anthem tinged with bluesy rock and soulful harmonies. Like their first release, it rides an electrifying expression of the buoying forces that exist alongside our pain. One dedicated to the rapturous effects that fiery love can have on us.

With “AWCB” — which stands for “All We Can Be” — Every Us continues to vault themselves toward lofty and emotional new heights. Once again they delve into the mercurial spaces that exist between two people, finding their hearts set aflame and souls propelled toward the innumerable possibilities such companionship affords.
This time Every Us is joined by singer/songwriter Olivia Reid and Chynna Sherrod. The track’s vibrant and riveting soundscape unfolds as a shimmering collision of collapsing synths and soaring choruses. It’s without a doubt one of their more transfixing pieces and finds them drawing on the electro-kineticism of dancefloor anthems to infuse the song’s tender lyricism with exhilerating ardor.
