Cigarettes After Sex is making its hotly hoped-for return to the stage in 2024-2025 with the announcement of their X’s World Tour. The new tour announcement follows their 2023 tour where they played two sold-out shows at the Greek Theatre LA. The X’s World Tour will bring the band to venues around the globe from North America to the U.K. and Europe — they’ve also revealed plans to add more Asia, South America, and Middle East dates shortly. The tour kicks off in the U.S. with performances at Madison Square Garden in New York and in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum. Other cities on their schedule include Austin, San Diego, Vancouver, and Mexico City.

The tour announcement comes in tandem with the revelation that the El Paso-born band will release its third studio album X on July 12th via Partisan Records. On the heels of both comes its lead single “Tejano Blue,” the track setting both the mood and tone for the entire forthcoming project.
Drawing on a desire to merge the iconic sound of Selena with the dreamy allure of Cocteau Twins — the result was a new emotional and melodic soundscape that bandleader Greg Gonzalez saw as a means of tapping into the music that surrounded his youth. One that examines with his touchingly raw intensity and honesty of a four-year relationship.
“The record feels brutal,” Gonzalez confessed. “I could sit and talk about this loss to someone, but that wouldn’t scratch the surface. I have to really write about it, sing about it, have the music, and then I can start to analyze and learn from it. Or just relive it—in a good way. I don’t have that Eternal Sunshine-thing of wanting to forget.”
