TVLI a.k.a. Tali is looking to make his mark on the electronic music scene with a string of singles that have paved the way for his rise. Before he inevitably blows up now is the time to get in on the hype before it’s begun—he might just have a handful of tracks out—but they’re all entrancing hits. You won’t want to miss out on his upcoming appearance at The Moroccan Lounge on July 18th!
TVLI didn’t start down an electronic path until later in life: at 5 years old he was introduced to the piano through music lessons and as he got older he turned to the guitar as a performer in bands like Verna Beware and Death Valley. His first foray into digital soundscapes was borne out of the portable ease with which he could create on the fly using only his laptop using software like Ableton—allowing him to make music without having to lug his guitar while on deployment for the U.S. Navy.
Yet his appreciation for that kind of tangible music production was what eventually led him to experiment with analog synthesizers. Suddenly the potential for a merging of digital and analog sounds he was familiar with like the piano or guitar was limitless. Grinding through video tutorials and using his past experience as a jumping-off point TVLI came to realize that his creative outlet was becoming something more.
Things really took off after he earned the attention of Grammy-nominated artist BT, which led to his signing with KSS3TE After Dark. Under their guidance, he’s been churning out the tracks that will comprise both his debut album and its inevitable follow-up, taking inspiration from contemporaries like Ben Böhmer. The three singles he’s shared so far and their accompanying extended mixes lend listeners a hypnotic preview of the forthcoming LP.
TVLI’s introductory single “Keep You” arrived in the spring as an oceanic swell of riveting house effervescence and asserted his love for soul-lifting melodics. His second offering “Eclipse,” true to its name, oscillates between thrumming drops and ecstatic synth highs. Trading its shuddering radiance for a relay of urgent electronica on his most recent single “Arrival,” TVLI flashes his growing talent for weaving intricate soundscapes that enthrall, invigorate, and leave you breathless.
When the LP those three tracks belong to finally drops it’s going to continue his ascension as a rising star of EDM. Delivering the kind of adrenaline-pumping and euphoric anthems he’s been rolling out. Those hoping to hear a preview of the album—or be treated to a dazzling light show—will no doubt get their wish if they attend his upcoming concert at The Moroccan Lounge on Thursday, July 18th.
