The man who assaulted a woman and her friends at the Rüfüs Du Sol concert at the Rose Bowl Stadium earlier this month appeared in a Pasadena courtroom on Monday, August 25, after being arrested in connection with a violent attack.
Julio Cesar Lopez Zavala, a 23-year-old from Hawthorne, was released on his own recognizance, reports NBC 4 Los Angeles. At his court hearing, the judge determined Zavala did not pose a threat to the public; however, the judge ruled he must wear an ankle monitor until further notice. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 21.
The violent assault at Rüfüs Du Sol’s show was just one of many unfortunate events reported by numerous fans who attended the concert. As previously reported, fans shared their firsthand accounts on social media of crowd-crushing in tunnels, people pushing on overcrowded stairs, aggressive and drunk individuals, arguments, fans blocking exits, and incredibly long shuttle lines.
Grimy Goods sent a request for comment to the concert event organizer and promoter, Live Nation, but they have yet to share a statement.
With Oasis coming up at the Rose Bowl Stadium on September 6 and 7, also organized and promoted by Live Nation, ticket holders have been voicing their “Rose Bowl worries” for the upcoming concert, citing that “crowd control was a sh*t show” at the Rüfüs show.
