The only way fans can get Olivia Rodrigo presale tickets is through her exclusive American Express presale, which begins Tuesday, May 5, at 12 PM local time. All Tickets will be sold through Olivia Rodrigo’s official Ticketmaster Event Page. 

A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales go to Olivia Rodrigo’s Fund 4 Good, a global initiative committed to building an equitable and just future for all women and girls through direct support of community-based non-profits that champion girls’ education, support reproductive rights, and prevent gender-based violence. 

Pro tip: if you are seeing tickets for Olivia Rodrigo‘s tour being sold on any other ticketing platform, other than Ticketmaster, ahead of her ticket presale date and start time, those are speculative tickets. Meaning they don’t actually have them. They are basically reselling tickets at a later date (if they even scalp enough), and this is a very shady tactic. More often than not, with a high-demand presale like Olivia Rodrigo’s, fans will fall for the trick and purchase those speculative tickets. Sadly, when it’s just a few days to go until the concert, the reseller won’t come through with the tickets. Because a lot of these scalpers claim to have more tickets than they’re able to get their dirty hands on. The fan gets a refund (if it’s a legit reseller like VividSeats or StubHub).

Not to mention. If you buy a ticket through one of these sites, you are going to pay double, sometimes triple, or more of the actual ticket price being sold on Ticketmaster. But you know, Ticketmaster will also resell them for those same exorbitant prices. It’s truly a sick cycle that only hurts fans.

If You Don’t Have An American Express Card

If you’re not already an AMEX cardholder, we highly recommend becoming one to get access to Olivia’s presale tickets. There does not appear to be any other Olivia Rodrigo presales. Besides, American Express, in our opinion, is the best credit card for concerts and music festivals perks.

Alternatively, if that is not an option for you. Reach out to family or friends who have an American Express card, and who would be willing to spot you tickets with their AMEX.

Your final option would be to battle it out in the general on sale for Olivia Rodrigo’s tour, which will begin Thursday, May 7, at 12 PM local time. But let’s be real, that general on sale probably won’t happen because every single ticket will surely be sold during the presale.

And if all else fails, you still have options, and that would be Olivia Rodrigo‘s $20 silver star ticket sale, which will not arrive until a later date.

How the American Express Presale Works

First, set your alarm for at least an hour (because you have some work to do) before the presale begins on Tuesday, May 5, at 12 PM local time.

Next, 40 minutes before it starts, login to your Ticketmaster account (go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page). If you don’t have one, create one now.

Tickets must be purchased using an American Express® Card (excluding Prepaid Cards). Be sure to add your American Express card billing details before jumping into the digital queue. You can enter the presale waiting room 30 minutes before tickets go on sale. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!

Once you’re in! There are two different American Express presale methods: AMEX Presale and AMEX Preferred. Both AMEX presales begin Tuesday, May 5, at 12 PM local time and will be accessible through Olivia’s Ticketmaster event page. All you need to do is select your tour date and have your American Express card handy.

AMEX Presale
I love the AMEX Presale. It makes buying presale tickets to high-demand tours a piece of cake. Once you add your American Express card to your billing details in your Ticketmaster account, you pretty much don’t need to do anything else except select your preferred tour date once the presale begins. From there on, it’s all automatic. You don’t need to enter a presale code or anything else. Just select your tour date and then select your ticket type, and voila! You will see that you’ll have instant access to purchasing those Olivia Rodrigo presale tickets.

AMEX Preferred
Your other option is the AMEX Preferred presale. This presale is pretty much the same as the AMEX Presale, but you actually have to enter a code. Select seats are saved just for this presale. When you select your tour date and decide to go for this AMEX presale, you will be asked to enter the 10-digit phone number on the back of your American Express card. Once you do that, you’ll have access to select AMEX presale seats.

Pro tip: Don’t be too picky. If you are lucky enough to get into the presale, that’s INCREDIBLE luck on its own. Tickets will go in seconds. Your best chance at securing tickets is to get the first pair you can get in your cart. Those who use the map feature to scan the best seats will likely miss out. The time you spend scanning seats, someone else is swooping on your tickets.

And sadly, most fans will lose out to scalpers. Oliva has not made any scalper prevention measures for the sale of her tickets. While we love her, as fans, we’re super disappointed. A lot of artists, such as Hayley Williams, Oliva Dean, Billie Eilish, and many more, make tickets non-transferable and only available to be resold on a face-value ticket exchange. Olivia has not done this. Many fans have voiced their opinions on our Instagram post and Ticketmaster’s post. Ticketmaster replied with:

“Hi! 👋 The tour has requested that all tickets will be mobile-only and the barcode will appear 7 days before the event, but you can view your order and transfer tickets as normal.”

That basically translates to, tickets can be transferred. We all know what that means: scalpers are gonna grab a large majority and sell them for a crazy expensive price on StubHub and Vivid Seats. Are we surprised? Not at all. Olivia is working with Live Nation-Ticketmaster for her tour (insert eye roll), the same company that was just ruled a monopoly. Those resale ticket service fees go back to Ticketmaster, the venue, the promoter (Live Nation), and sometimes the client (Olivia and her team). These splits vary widely based on agreements.

But who knows, with enough pushback and fans commenting on Olivia’s and Ticketmaster’s posts, Olivia might come through in the last minute and put some ticket scalping preventive measures in place for her fans. If not, Ticketmaster might do some good and cancel tickets bought by scalpers. It happened recently with Harry Styles’ 30-night residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Thousands of scalped tickets were canceled and resold to fans.
