Whenever we visit the Luckman Fine Arts Complex, we travel to other continents from within our very city of Angels. Malian singer, composer, producer, guitarist (wonder music woman extraordinaire), Rokia Traore did her Luckman debut this past Saturday, bringing songs from her new album, Beautiful Africa. Her music explores her initial love of rock blending traditional African sounds. One of the most outstanding elements of Rokia is her voice, emotional yet strong capable to take you away to the land of her distinctive tunes.
