It was ladies night at the Echo last night as La Sera took the stage to celebrate the release of their new album, Hour of the DawnSupporting La Sera were L.A. shredders, Colleen Green and Springtime Carnivore. I jokingly said I’d start a mosh pit for La Sera, but after watching Katy Goodman shred, I realized the joke was on me. There was no need to start a mosh pit to spice things up.

Goodman (La Sera) was swaying to the heavy punk grooves of her new album, and doing it justice live. With nasty guitar licks and those siren-like vocals, Goodman pleased fans with a fine selection of songs from Hour of the Dawn.

With just her guitar and a drum machine, Green was a one-woman-band that can easily tear shit up better than most full-piece bands. If you have yet to see her live, we highly recommend you do so. The girl can hold her own!

La Sera, Colleen Green and Springtime Carnivore rocked the Echo loud and proud, proving that women can rock out just as hard as men, if not harder.
