Coachella 2015 photos

The Coachella 2016 lineup has been revealed! First off, we want to give a huge congratualtroy shoutout to our very good friends The Dead Ships! This local Los Angeles band has been shredding the past few years and it’s nice to see them on such a famed festival bill. Be sure to catch them!

This year’s lineup includes main acts Gun ‘n’ Roses (with Slash and Axl), LCD Sound System, SIA, Miike Snow, Ice Cube, M83, Underworld, Halsey and more. Some undercards and lesser known acts (to the mainstream, which is almost all of the Coachella attendees) we are looking forward to are Algiers, Girlpool, De Lux, Phases, Shamir, BADBADNOTGOOD, Ex Hex, Young Fathers, Meg Myers, Nosaj Thing—and of course—the aforementioned The Dead Ships!

Additionally, this year’s Coachella lineup has a lot more unfamiliar names than year’s past, and we think that’s a GREAT thing; somewhat of a return to “Coachella”. This festival was once about music discovery and bringing back some rare acts, not about touting mainstream performers and oversaturated names in mindie (mainstream indie). The lineups have all been special in their own way, but we’re diggin’ the surplus of undercards this year.

Coachella will take place at its annual stomping ground in Indio across two weekends: April 15–17, 2016 and April 22–24, 2016.  Tickets to both weekends of Coachella 2016 will go on sale this Wednesday, January 6 at 11 a.m. General admission weekend passes are priced at $375 with VIP weekend passes going for $899.
