It’s almost here! The world renowned “Disneyland of hardcore skateboard parks” has finally become a documentary fit for the silver screen. “Skatopia: 88 Acres of Anarchy” is about freedom, skateboarding, workaholics, fire, pain – the building of a dream.
Conveniently nestled in the middle of Appalachia near Rutland, Ohio, Skatopia is a private skate park owned and overseen by Brewce Martin (hope he’s healing well). Also home to the Museum of Skateboard History, which houses more than 12,000 vintage skateboards, this gnarley haven of mayhem is a place where skaters and locals come to shred, party and burn cars! Housing two indoor bowls, a full pipe/vert ramp complex and a concrete outdoor bowl, many hands have helped build this multi-million dollar skatepark. If you wanna skate the goods, you gotta put in some work.
With its world premiere hitting New York City July 11, now all can experience and understand the story of “Skateopia: 88 Acres of Anarchy.”
