Delivering beautiful music filled with luscious breathy vocals and a delicate yet powerful orchestration of sound, Australian quintet Bridezilla, is set to release their EP in September. Already nearing completion of their highly anticipated LP, Bridezilla has played alongside Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, The Dirty Three and Sia.
In the emotionally powerful track “St. Francine,” front-woman Holiday Carmen-Sparks, radiates such an intense sound similar to that of Bjork. The saxophone reels in a jazz feel, while strangely enough, the violin adds some pleasing chaos. It’s quite the an enamoring blend of sound.
Bridezilla fuses a unique instrumentation of saxophone, violin, guitar, and drums to perfectly weave into the dark melodic vocals of Sparks. The music the four girls and their solo male drummer create, is truly beautiful and one of the most remarkable debuts of 2009—a solid incantation of measure that has the power to enchant with their aural gifts.
