Another fine band out of LA, Crooked Cowboy & The Freshwater Indians opened up for Gram Rabbit this past Friday, April 2, 2010. I’ve never heard anything coined as “experimental country” but the eerie fresh sounds Crooked Cowboy creates are not only dripping with badassness, but they’re also very beautiful. From rapid, clanky jams that will take your feet on a reckless stampede to music that you’d love to hear on an old school gramophone as you sit back and relax with a a nice whiskey, Crooked Cowboy’s simulating in every way. The entire band exudes a really cool mysterious vibe synonymous to the sound they produce. Good shit.
