Our friends at the Echo and Echoplex are putting on a pretty rippin’ event this Sunday, Aug. 8 titled, The Power of The Riff. Not only is it FREE (with your RSVP) but it’s open to all ages. So even all you underage show-goers can attend this cool music festival.

Curated by Greg Anderson of Southern Lord Records and Sam James Velde of the band Night Horse, the event intends to present the varying degrees of heavy music that blurs the lines of metal, hard rock, hardcore and punk. The lineup will shred your ears to a bloody pulp: featuring musicians that represent the forefathers, milestones and current touring acts such as Repulsion, Corrosion Of Conformity, From Ashes Rise, Trap Them, Coliseum and Goatsnake, while also shedding light on ‘up and coming’ acts such as Nails, The Fucking Wrath, Night Horse, Eagle Twin and Black Breath. Holy shit this is going to be a bad ass show!

Presented by Converse in association with Scion, Southern Lord Records and Spaceland Productions, The Power of The Riff will also includes a record swap meet of local stores such as Vacation Vinyl, Origami Vinyl, pop up stores by Tee Pee Records, Southern Lord Recordings and more.

Additionally, you can get your grub on with some of LA’s tastiest food trucks. There’s something for everyone … from vegan delights by Sweet Vindication, stacked burgers by Grill Em All, head high sandwiches by the legendary Canters Deli and unforgettable frankfurters by The Greasy Wiener!
