Bringing back those trip hoppin’ UK beats and then some, UNKLE played to a full house this past Monday at the El Rey Theatre. As a total surprise and special treat, The Cult’s, Ian Astbury, joined James Lavelle on stage for “Burn My Shadow” from 2007’s “War Stories.” It was pretty damn cool. Opening up for UNKLE were San Francisco’s psych darlings, Sleepy Sun. As you can imagine, the evening was full of wild textures, pulsating beats and extraordinary sounds.
