Last Wednesday, Feb. 23 it was red carpet celebrities meets East side hipsters at the Global Green USA pre-Oscar party at the Avalon in Hollywood. Although the evening called for big name celebrities such as James Cameron and Dawson from Dawson’s Creek (James Van Der Beek) the Avalon was also filled with East side hipsters and Hollywood scenesters on this interesting evening. With a popular indie line-up featuring Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC), Portugal. The Man and Best Coast, both show-kids and Hollywood’s wannabe glitterati came out to enjoy some great tunes and drinks benefiting “Greener Cities for A Cooler Planet.”
Oddly enough, we were invited to cover the swanky red (more so Green) carpet to take some snaps of a bunch of celebs I’ve never even heard of. But what we were most amped on and rightfully attending this event for was to see two of our favorite bands, BRMC and Portugal. The Man tear some shit up for this swanky event. Portugal. The man definitely brought the smooth grooves and bouncing reverb as BRMC played with such rockin’ style radiating that untouchable vibe of theirs. Best Coast wasn’t too shabby if you’re into hipster buzz bands with not much diversity. It was nice to see people that aren’t regularly exposed to this kind of music having a good time shakin’ those hips and bobbin’ those heads. Especially the elderly couple dancing together in the middle of the dance floor to Portugal, they were so darn cute!
Check out the photos below of BRMC, Portugal. The Man, Best Coast and even some red carpet celebs who most of them we haven’t the slightest idea of who they are. Maybe you can help us identify them???

Grimy Goods isn’t too shabby if you’re into hipster buzz blogs with not much diversity.
