Army Navy are bringing their sweet indie pop to Austin for some serious SXSW fun! Hailing from the City of Angels, you won’t want to miss this hot act. Their charming tunes are full of bouncing guitar chords with a bit of fuzz and noise rock tendencies all sugar coated with the adorable vocals of lead singer, Justin Kennedy.
Check out what Justin had to say about SXSW below!
- How many SXSWs have you done?
This is our 2nd official time playing! Third time unofficially.
- What’s your favorite thing about SXSW? Least favorite?
It’s like indie rock Mardis Gras! Lots of friends, loads of great bands to see, free booze, amazing BBQ, Austin rules. Con: Getting there is kinda gnarly….and the cops love ticketing out of towners.
- What showcases are you doing this year?
Our official showcase is at 1 a.m. late Saturday night at Swan Dive, 615 Red River St. @ 7th st - What bands/performers do you want to see at SXSW?
The Good Natured (Adorably cute, talented UK artist), Edwin Collins (Legend), Wild Nothing (Heard them recently on KCRW, sounded pretty), and I hear The Dead Milkmen are playing. That would be pretty badass. I’m sure there are tons more, but I haven’t really had much time to look and see all the bands that are playing. - What word of advice would you give to newbie SXSW’ers?
Do the speed limit once you hit Texas…the fuzz are waiting for you… - SXSW drink of choice?
Lone Star beer, Coconut Water, Bourbon…not all together. And tons of water. - Anything else you’d like to add?
Come to our showcase! We are playing a bunch of new songs from our forthcoming album!!!!

I love these boys! So glad you guys featured them. They are always a fun time and kind of remind of Silversun Pickups.
