Hanni El Khatib oozes sheer coolness with a very sexy appeal. One of L.A.’s rising up-and-comers, his music has already been featured in the hit HBO series, Hung, he’s opened for Florence and The Machine and is playing numerous shows creating quite the hot buzz in L.A and beyond. His infectious tunes roll with a gritty blues swagger all to the tone of a bad boy, garage rock attitude. If Hanni were in his prime during the 50’s, he’d be stealing the ladies from the Soc’s and rumbling alongside the Greasers. That’s how badass his music is.

- How many SXSWs have you done?
THIS WILL BE MY FIRST. - What showcases are you doing this year?
WE’VE GOT A BUNCH OF THINGS GOING ON. WE’RE DOING THE WINDISH AGENCY SHOWCASE, SPACELAND+ ECHO PARTY, BUZZBANDS LA SHOWCASE, OTHER MUSIC, DIG FOR MUSIC SHOWCASE, EVERLOVING PARTY, NEVERHEARD PARTY , THE VINYL DISTRICT, LUV LUV LUV SHOWCASE, GUNS IN THE SUN + HIT CITY USA PARTY … COULD BE SOMETHING I’M MISSING.
- What bands/performers do you want to see at SXSW?
I’VE GOT SOME FRIENDS PLAYING, SO IT’D BE NICE TO CHECK THEM OUT. BUT I THINK WE’LL BE RUNNING AROUND LIKE CRAZY SO IT’LL BE AWESOME TO TAKE A BREATHER AND SEE ANYONE REALLY. - What word of advice would you give to newbie SXSW’ers?
DON’T GET DRUNK UNTIL YOU’VE SEEN YOUR FAVORITE BAND.
- SXSW drink of choice?
COFFEE AND BEER.

PREPARE TO LURK AND GET BUCK.
