Win Tickets to Femi Kuti & The Positive Force w/ DJ Jeremy Sole at the El Rey – Jan. 18, 2013

Femi Kuti & The Positive Force band headline the El Rey on Friday, January 18. This London born musician had an early start with playing music. His early years consisted of playing in his father’s band, Egypt 80, playing Afro-beat, jazz, and funk with themes involving political activism. After establishing his own band The Positive Force, Kuti sought  a more mainstream hip-hop audience and collaborated with such artists as Common and Mos Def. Joining him is DJ Jeremy Sole, whose musical inspiration comes from music all over the world with a strong background of blues, jazz, disco, salsa, and soul. The night will be jam packed with soulful mixes and funky tunes!

Tickets are $30 (excluding service fees), doors open at 8PM, and is all ages. Enter the contest below for a chance to win a pair of tickets, courtesy of our friends at Goldenvoice.

Winners will have until 10am Thursday, Jan. 16 to reply back to our email and confirm their win.
