Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe headlines the El Rey on Friday, Feb. 1. Many will recognize him as a member of Lenny Kravitz’s band playing sultry sounds through his sax. Denson has co-founded and led The Greyboy Allstars as well as record with artists such as Blind Boys of Alabama, Joe Foreman, and Dave Holland. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe draws influence from funk, jazz, R&B, and hip hop and will definitely get you up and dancing! Joining him is Howlin Rain, an Oakland based psychedelic, blues-rock, funk, 1970s arena rock band. The night will be magnificently upbeat and is something not to be missed!
