New Song by Hanni El Khatib Penny

This new Hanni El Khatib track is just begging for radio airplay, and we’re sure it will soon grace the redundant airwaves of KROQ and 98.7FM (if it hasn’t already).

As the second single of the Dan Auerbach-produced album, there is no doubt “Penny” is catchy-as-hell, but it sure doesn’t burn with the same raw, badass-ery as the songs on Will The Guns Come Out. Out with the bad boy croons and in with the happy-go-lucky, candy choruses. “Penny” will have even the baddest biker prancing around in a flowers field. It may be more frat boy music than “rebel music,” but the change in style and sound, for at least this new Hanni El Khatib song has a positive charm. Every bad boy needs a sweet and soft side, and “Penny” is Hanni El Khatib’s.

Hanni El Khatib will be on tour this May with the Black Angels. Scroll down for tour dates.
