Shugo Tokumaru is like the male version of Emily Wells in the sense that they are both multi-instrumentalists that write their own music and have a preference for combining sounds of two into one. Tokumaru makes songs fit for a perfect summer day, a roadtrip, or even for your significant other. He claimed recognition in the United States with his album Night Piece that captivated the hearts of Americans. His 5th album, Port Entropy even made it onto Grimy Goods’ Staff Picks album list. Now, with six albums in his hands, Tokumaru will be performing at The Echo, Friday, July 12. Join him along with supporting act Tara Jane O’Neil.
