When translated to the Spanish language, Desaparecidos literally means “the disappeared” which the band did make happen when they broke up in 2002, a year after they came together. In support of his other band, Bright Eyes, Conor Obert put more time into this project, rather than to Desaparecidos, leading to band dismemberment. However, the band is back with the same raw energy and sound they had 11 years ago after deciding to reunite in 2010. Last year, they released two songs for their fans. The band holds Conor Oberst as vocalist, an obvious contradiction to Bright Eyes which shows a more sentimental side of Oberst rather than his hardcore vocals on a song like “Anonymous”. As part of Desaparecidos reunion, they have set up their website where listeners can check out their other singles. Join the band as they perform at the Fonda Theater on Monday, November 4. Supporting acts include Joyce Manor and Emily and Christine from Origami Vinyl.
