In 2012 we were blown away by the Canadian dark-wave electro duo, TRUST’s debut album TRST. So much that we gave them a Hot Band Alert feature and then they blew us away even further at their show at the Echoplex, opening up for Oh Land and Blood Orange. Led by the handsome and lusciously baritone, Robert Alfons — the boy has got it goin’ on. Tall and slender with a stylish look and a face that never quits titillating your eyes, Alfons’ dark and mysterious vocals is what truly pulls a number on you. They’re mystifying and will swallow you whole — and “trust,” you’ll be totally okay with it. As you can see, Robert Alfons is definitely our Man Crush Monday feature this week.
On Tuesday, March 4th (tomorrow), TRUST will release their sophomore album, Joyland. Continuing to deliver that dark-wave electro, the album is provocative, yet exudes sullen synth pop vibes that stays true to TRUST’s signature sound. You can stream it here now. Joyland will be released by Arts & Crafts on March 4, 2014. Click here to order the album.
TRUST has an L.A. performance date lined up for April 24th at Los Globos with Mozart’s Sister. Click here for tickets!
