La Sera at the Echoplex

After pouring her broken heart out to create two bittersweet albums that delighted our ears, La Sera’s Katy Goodman is switching gears with her forthcoming album, Hour of the Dawn out May 13th on Hardly Art. With an “I am woman hear me roar”-attitude, Goodman has shined a new light and is taking life by the balls. The new La Sera album is very rock ‘n’ roll, faster, louder and more aggressive, but still stays true to Goodman’s adoring vocals and catchy melodies.

“I wanted the new La Sera record to sound like Lesley Gore fronting Black Flag,” Goodman says. “I didn’t want it to be another record of me sad, alone in my room.

Inspired by the The Pretenders, Minor Threat, X, The Smiths, The Cars and more — La Sera’s new album was fleshed out in an East Los Angeles studio this past summer with engineer Joel Jerome. The 10 tracks will deliver a fierce sounds of punk mixed with 80s power pop.
