A year before entering into the 21st century, the Japanese instrumental rock band Mono formed. with Takaakira Goto (electric guitar), Hideki Suematsu (electric guitar), Tamaki Kunishi (bass guitar, piano) and Yasunori Takada (drum kit, synthesizer). All band members use the Glockenspiel, an instrument similar to the xylophone only set at a higher pitch. In total, the band has released eight albums with their latest titled, For My Parents. This week, they’ll be headlining a show at the Glass House on Thursday, May 1, along with L.A. based cellist, Helen Money.
