Sad news today, it looks like Tim ‘Rawbiz’ Williams, bassist of Los Angeles thrashers, Suicidal Tendencies has past away. The band announced on their Facebook page last night the following statement:

“It’s with complete sadness that we have to announce the passing of bassists Tim “Rawbiz” Williams. Tim played bass for Suicidal Tendencies for almost four years until recently. Tim was a monster on bass, running around on stage in the pit, giving his all, even when his body wasn’t at it’s best. We will always remember him and appreciate all the kind words by those that were touched by his bass playing and him personally.

We recently covered Suicidal Tendencies’ show at the Fonda Theatre last December (check out photos and review) and it was one hell of a performance. Rawbiz was a master slayer of the bass and absolutely ruled the performance. For many of us that were born and/or raised in Southern California, Suicidal Tendencies was a household name for us. This is the band many of us in the punk and skate cultures grew up with. Even though Williams was with the band for just four years, he too became a household name for us.

In addition to his work with Suicidal Tendencies, Williams worked with a variety of artists from BOYZ II MEN to Keyshia Cole, Toni Braxton and more.

The cause of Tim ‘Rawbiz’ Williams’ death has not been announced yet.
