Pond is the primary creative outlet of Joseph Ryan, Nick Allbrook and Jay Watson. Based out of the psychedelic mecca of Perth, Australia the group has always held close a fascination with space-odyssey synths and cataclysmic walls of sound — like a spacecraft crash landing on a foreign planet. On their newest release, “Waiting Around For Grace,” Pond have checked the levels and decided to brave the foreign terrain. As opposed to their usual Soft-Loud-Louder approach to songwriting, here Pond cautiously treads the landscape before blasting into a celebratory jam at their good fortune; not many could survive these many emergency procedures.

Their penchant for space-y tracks isn’t lost on the trio. Their tongue-in-cheekily titled 6th LP Man It Feels Like Space Again, is proof enough of that. And to commemorate the release and coinciding North American Tour that kicks off next month, the band have gifted the space-walk track as a free download to their US fans. Get the track here.

Pond will headline the Echo on Friday, October 31st, 2014. Get tickets here.
