Talk about a great way to start your Monday. Indie punk band, The Orwells, took over The Fonda this past Monday with New York-based, Skaters opening up. Per usual, frontman Mario Cuomo worked the Fonda into a frenzy as he strut the stage and crowd surfed into an amped crowd. Performing songs from their debut full-length record, Disgraceland out June 3rd via Canvasback Music, their performance (as all Orwells shows are) was quite entertaining. This was a down and dirty, not quite “punk,” but punk enough rock ‘n’ roll show that left the walls of the theatre steaming with sweat.
