The Skirball Cultural Center will be hosting a very special guest on Friday, October 24t. It’s none other than the British soul singer Alice Russell! Since early age, Russell was inspired by her father and sister to engage in music by participating in choirs and eventually studying music in Brighton. She gained momentum as a singer when she discovered the legendary Stevie Wonder and soulstress Aretha Franklin, influencing her take on music for soul, funk, and jazz. Russell will be performing songs off her latest album, To Dust, as well as celebrating her early recordings with the influential label, Tru Thoughts. Supporting acts include the L.A. based producer and multi-instrumentalist, Lost Midas, and the San Francisco electro pop band The Seshen.
Tickets are priced at $20 (ADV)/$30 (Reserved balcony seating) and that includes FREE parking. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is 18-and-over. Take your chances at winning a FREE pair of tickets with us by entering the contest below, courtesy of the Skirball Cultural Center and Grimy Goods.
