The Mantles grow more “Paisley Underground” than ever with the release of their new video for “Memory”. Taken from their forthcoming 7″ single off Slumberland Records, “Memory” becomes even more catchy and campy with their happy-go-lucky new video. At first glance, I thought I was watching a Brady Bunch music video. And I mean that in the best of ways. The entire 60s/70s vibe of the video is brilliant. It’s innocent and basic, and it just makes you really fuckin, happy. Everything about this video is a blast-to-the-past, everything except for the Mantles’ new lineup. Featuring the magical keyboards of Carly Putnam and the vibrant bass of Matt Bullimore, the Mantles’ new video for “Memory” is a joyous depiction of what is was like to make late ’60s West Coast folk-pop and garage. Prancing around and dancing to the beat of their own tunes, it’s easy to see that the Mantles’ had a lot of fun making this video; nothing but smiles.
The Mantles’ forthcoming Memory 7″ will be released on December 2 via Slumberland Records and French labels Les Disques Steak / SDZ. This is the first recording for the San Francisco ensemble, since the release of Long Enough To Leave (2013).
