Atlanta’s fiery all femme-fatale garage-punk threesome, The Coathangers have shared a thrilling new cover song. Taking the iconic sound of “Sex Beat” by the Gun Club, The Coathanger bring the punk number back to life with their sexy-banshee-like vocals. The new rendition is part of a new Suicide Squeeze Records split 7″ which features The Coathangers singing the aforementioned “Sex Beat” and These Arms Are Snakes‘ “Energy Drink And The Long Walk Home”. While These Arms Are Snakes remain broken up, the finishing touches on “Energy Drink” were finalized in 2014, and what better way to compliment the song with a track from their thrashin’ old tourmates, The Coathangers!
The split 7″ will be available on Dec. 2, 2014 via Suicide Records and is now available for pre-order. In the meantime you can listen The Coathangers tearing up “Sex Beat” below.
