It’s been a minute, but we’re happy to hear the The Black Ryder are back it again. The Los Angeles duo by way of Australia and composed of Aimee Nash and Scott Von Ryper have announced a headlining record release show at The Echo on February 25. We been lovin’ and crushin’ on the Black Ryder since we fist caught their L.A. debut at the Echo in 2011. While we had high hopes for the release of their sophomore album in 2014 — the follow up to their incredible Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride — it looks like the band took a bit more time with their next work. The Black Ryder have announced a February 24 release date for their new LP, The Door Behind The Door.
“Since releasing our first record we left Australia, toured America, relocated to Los Angeles, all the while trying to find our feet & get somewhat settled enough to write & produce this record,” shares vocalist / songwriter Nash. “It also took some time to find the right scenario for releasing our music as well.”
Engineered by Von Ryper and produced by he and Nash, The Door Behind The Door picks up when the band left Australia to tour America in 2010. Creating new layers of emotion through sound, the duo no longer a married couple, however remained close confidantes and musical collaborators. Due to the deeply personal nature of The Door Behind The Door’s creation, Nash and Von Ryper are taking the reins for its release, putting it out worldwide on the band’s own imprint The Anti-Machine Machine in conjunction with The Orchard.
Tickets to The Black Ryder at The Echo are priced at $15 and the show is 18-and-over. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, December 4 at 12 p.m.
