Ever wanted to see mimes harmonize (har-mime-ize?)? Los Angeles duo QUI has you covered in their new video “Kicked Out of Mime College”.
Qui, made up of Paul Christensen (drums/vocals) and Matt Cronk (guitar/vocals) look the part in this sometimes black-and-white and sometimes color video. At times, the two even mime them playing their instruments, I assume actually matching up to the song. Or maybe not, and that’s why it’s ‘Kicked Out of Mime College”.
The two harmonize quite similarly to the way Queen did in some of their trippier-sounding tracks. Though the song is bare-boned in its approach, the bass line is mesmerizing and Christensen gives the song a nice backbone with his drumming. The accompanying video definitely qualifies as something different than the usual, which is quite welcome.
Qui is touring all along the west coast through December with a couple dates in support of the reformed Moving Units at the El Rey (win tickets here) and a February date at The Roxy in support of the reunited Babes in Toyland (get tickets here). Scroll down for their entire list of our dates.
