Decemberists

Portland, Oregon’s The Decemberists are back in Los Angeles with a headlining performance scheduled at the Greek Theatre on Saturday, May 2nd. Today the band have released their seventh studio album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. And if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, here’s some more good news: the city of Portland, Oregon has declared January 20, 2015 as “Decemberists Day.” Portland’s mayor Charlie Hales will present the band with the below proclamation at a City Hall ceremony at 2:00pm today. The free event features a performance by the band and the unveiling of a collaborative art piece inspired by the album that was created by 50 local Portland artists and small businesses. But, if you don’t live in Portland, you can catch the Decemberists live on on Jimmy Kimmel this Thursday, January 22 or at the Greek Theatre when they come to L.A. this May! The Decemberists also have an in-store signing at Amoeba Music this Wednesday at 5pm.

Tickets to The Decemberists at the Greek Theatre will go on sale this Friday, January 23 at 10 a.m.
