Beach House (aka Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally) are back with a new album and tour! The dream-pop duo announced today that they will release their fifth full-length record, titled Depression Cherry, on August 28 via Subpop Records. The band has also revealed the cover art of the new album, and it comes in a deep cherry colored velvet! Recorded at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa, Louisiana from November ’14 through January ’15, the new record shows a return to simplicity. Beach House has shared a quote about their forthcoming album: “For us, Depression Cherry is a color, a place, a feeling, an energy… that describes the place you arrive as you move through the endlessly varied trips of existence…” you can view the tracklist below with selected lyrics for each song.
To celebrate the new album, Beach House will embark on an extensive tour kicking off on August 18. The band will headline two Los Angeles dates at the Fonda Theatre on Wednesday, December 9 and Thursday, December 10. Tickets are priced at $30 and will go on sale Friday, May 29 at 10am.
