Eagles of Death Metal have shared a new song titled “Silverlake (K.S.O.F.M.)” off their forthcoming album Zipper Down. The cheeky rock track pokes fun at the highly hipsterfied town of Silver Lake in East Los Angeles with hilarious lyrics such as “don’t be uncool man because the owner’s like my friend” and “don’t you know who I am?” If you’ve lived in East Los Angeles, particularly Silver Lake and Echo Park, you know this song definitely holds some solid truths. You can stream Eagles of Death Metal’s new song “Silverlake (K.S.O.F.M.)” below.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Eagles of Death Metal’s Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes talk about the tone of their first album in seven years:

Hughes: And you hit the nail on the head, Baby Duck, when you said that we’re fans first. We are fans first. We love this, we believe in it, and we’re going, “Anyone else a fan of rock & roll? Cool. Come here and check this out.”

Homme: And I think this record is made from a fan’s perspective. Like, what would I wanna hear? And that is a good spot to be coming from.

Hughes: I came up with a great analogy for what the music is. It’s bending George Clinton over a couch and butt-fucking him using Little Richard as the dick and the Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry as the balls.

Eagles of Death Metal have two show dates on October 19 and 20 at the Teragram Ballroom in Downtown Los Angeles (which is only a few minutes from “Silverlake”). Get your tickets here.
