San Diego’s The Frights are gearing up to release their new album, You Are Going To Hate This and to celebrate the forthcoming LP, the band has shared a new song off the album. You can stream The Frights’ title-track “You Are Going To Hate” below. The song is a jangly surf-punk number with an instantly memorable hook that will have you singing along, “why can’t I be like you.”

With their new album produced by Zac Carper of FIDLAR, The Frights have been making their name known in Los Angeles. We’ve caught the raucous trio playing with Cherry Glazerr at The Echo, opening for FIDLAR at The Regent and headlining their own gig at The Smell. All three times the band have left us craving more of that good-time punk sound.

The Frights’ new album You Are Going To Hate This is set for release February 12 via Dangerbird Records. You can preorder the new tunes here.

The Frights just performed at Beach Goth 4 alongside acts Die Antwoord, Julian Casablancas, Warpaint, Grimes and more. The band have announced an upcoming Los Angeles date with Frnkiero and the Cellabration, on November 18 at the Teragram Ballroom. You can get your tickets here.
