In celebration of Ex-Sage’s Monday night residency at the Bootleg Theater, the band have shared a new video interview where they exchange tour stories with fellow Los Angeles band Twin Temple. From strange tour experiences that may or may not involve strip clubs, to haunted hotel rooms, check out what these two unique bands have to share (video below).
Ex-Sage first caught our ears at after listening to their sludgy desert rock anthem “Trip Wire” where we then featured them as a must-see act at Echo Park Rising. Ever since then, we’ve been hooked on the riveting duo known as Kate Clover and Tim Foley. Their penchant for sticky sweet harmonies amidst a chunky, guitar driven sound stands out with an undeniable raw fervor.
Ex-Sage will kick off their Bootleg residency tonight (Dec.5). The show is free! Supporting acts include: Twin Temple, Bones (UK), and special guests. If you can’t catch Ex-Sage tonight, be sure to watch them rock the Bootleg at one of their two other free residency dates:
- Dec. 12 — Ex-Sage w/ Death Hymn Number 9, Girl Tears, The Mad Walls
- Dec. 19 — Ex-Sage w/ VUM, Adrian, Old Testament
Ex-Sage released their Out Of The Blue EP on September 30. You can listen to their tunes here.
Twin Temple also have a shared a new track of their EP. Featuring members of the Dap-Kings (Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley) and Daptone Records’ Budos Band, without a doubt you’ll be diggin’ their “goth-soul.” Have a listen here.
