Adam Ant, the legendary lead singer of post-punk group Adam and the Ants gleamed this past Thursday at the Fonda Theatre Hollywood! The pop icon touring in celebration of the 35th anniversary of his landmark Kings of the Wild Frontier album, lit up the Fonda as though he were in his prime.
Adam Ant’s 1980 release Kings Of The Wild Frontier was a staple in my father’s amazing record collection, and as a result I have been a lifelong fan of his work. Shooting Adam Ant’s sold-out show at the Fonda was an extraordinary treat.
The show kicked off with Adam Ant and his double drummer (Andy Woodard and Jola) band playing Kings Of The Wild Frontier in its entirety and carried on with crowd favorites including “Goody Two Shoes.” From his mint swagger and enticing energy, to the band’s sound — Adam Ant’s performance at the Fonda Theatre was absolutely fulfilling; a must-see for any Adam Ant fan.
Opening for Adam Ant were the Glam Skanks. These fierce ladies brought the heat and they did a stellar job of priming the Fonda for the evening.
