Ecuadorian experimental electronic producer Helado Negro has just released new song “Come Be Me” via the Adult Swim Singles streaming program, which comes on the heels of the release of his album Private Energy back in May. Originally titled “I want to pretend I won in the end,” the new track pulsates with amorous potency, centered around the lush vocals of its architect and a trickling of pieced together instrumentals. A love song in its own right, all the elements of Helado Negro’s dextrous insertions of Latin soul and rhythmics are as organic as ever, with the very atmospherics of the song oscillating between a lofty melancholy and resolute adoration on the whim of his rich croons. It’s the kind of song you hear purring from a radio on a summer evening as the skyline burns with one of those red scarred sunsets, exotically charming in its sparse melody, leaving behind in you a strange sense of mysticism.

Helado Negro will be going on tour over the next few months, making a stop at the Regent Theater on August 17, tickets are still available here.
