L.A. Witch debut first single “Baby in Blue Jeans” from eponymous debut album

LA Witch Announce Record Release Show at Levitt Pavilion

A local cult favorite that combines the grimy rock of Los Angeles’ DIY scene and it’s trippy surf-rock sentiments, L.A. Witch cast their alluringly eerie bewitchments with a duality of enticing guitar work and otherworldly, straight-out-the-void vocals. Soaked to the bone in gloomy reverb and a lethargic haze, the trio of femmes fatales turn the dial of time to the negative as they slow things down with their newest single “Baby in Blue Jeans.” Oozing with nostalgia over a dreamy California long past, Sade Sanchez’s ominous vocals and desert tripping guitar twangs eclipse the more half-baked, pop inclined pursuits of Los Angeles like a blackened sun of saucy, garage-rock for the most degenerate of lovers and dreamers. With the bass fingerings of Irita Pai holding the bare ligaments of the song’s wall of sound and drummer Ellie English letting the fuse on the entire pile of dynamite sitting in a summer swelter that is the song burn slow with an anxiously measured percussive build-up, “Baby in Blue Jeans” is modest in its volatile passions. Instead, they bubble just below the surface, crackling and sparking in the form of Sanchez’s howls or a few bolts of guitar riffs, escalating to the point of combustion before mildly restraining itself in sublime fashion.

L.A. Witch is out September 8 via Suicide Squeeze Records, pre-order it here. Visit the band’s Facebook to stay updated on future releases and tour dates. L.A. Witch will be playing a record release show on August 31 at the Levitt Pavilion in MacArthur Park.
