With his forthcoming debut album Aromanticism out in just a few weeks, Moses Sumney has unveiled another single, “Indulge Me,” from his concept album about the sonic dreamscapes of lovelessness. Dually breathy and suffocating, Sumney’s still-life atmospherics of lightly scratched guitar strums are texturized in the surreality that gushes from his raspy croons and velvet murmurs. His vocals, mesmerizing in their eerie beauty, are as much an instrument to Sumney as guitars or drums and they blend as much on “Indulge Me” into the soundscape as water color on canvas. His voice pierces in the first minute of its inception, but as the song wanes forward and all the other sounds fade into the background, his slow drawl is left alone to drone on sonorously in the dark.

Moses Sumney will be going on tour this fall, making local stops at the Hollywood Bowl on September 24 opening for Solange Knowles and at the El Rey Theatre on October 21 as the finale for his North American run.
