Looking to restore your faith in humanity? The LOUD organization supplies students all over LA County with instruments and a detailed music curriculum delivered by teachers with years of experience. They provide the arts education that public schools lack. On Saturday, 38 bands formed in their program will perform at a showcase at the Echo and Echoplex, giving most of these young musicians their very first chance to feel the electricity of a live audience, even if it’s not their ultimate calling. LOUD just wants to give kids a chance to try something new, “Not because we expect you to major in music…But so you will be human. So you will have more love, more compassion, more gentleness, more good,–in short, more life.”
