Wolf Bay is a rebirth of sorts for Dean Passarella. He is currently the bassist in Lauren Ruth Ward’s live band, and with his new solo material we will finally get to know him. Today marks the release of Wolf Bay’s debut single, “Under the Moon,” with a record release show planned at the Moroccan Lounge on July 29th. Listen exclusively below.

During that time, I was writing my own material privately and finally found the courage to start sharing it. I wanted a home for my solo music to live, separated from my past work. That is how Wolf Bay came to be.” – Dean Passarella [/perfectpullquote]

If there was one way to describe “Under the Moon,” it’s smooth. It exudes effortless confidence while sultry melodies yearn for casual romance. Passarella describes himself as a “hopeless romantic,” this being the most passionate song he’s written, though the passion in question is finite. “It’s about meeting someone who’s soul you instantly feel connected to, more like seeing an old friend after a long time rather than a new connection. It’s about allowing yourself to fall intensely in love, even though you both know that there is a time limit. However, you both choose the present moment and dive into each other’s depths regardless.” With that, the affair promised in the lyrics becomes that much more affecting–their love feels no inhibitions, even in the face of its own demise.

Wolf Bay will perform at the Moroccan Lounge on July 29th; get tickets. Follow him on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
