With the kind of piercing croons that as much wrap themselves in tenderness around the heart as they do make it shiver, singer/songwriter Susy Sun has made herself known with the eponymous single from her upcoming album, “The Way The Wind Blows.” Above a lilting piano ballad that eventually surges alongside Sun’s soaring vocals, the single tracks in vivid intimacy of the “impermanence” of love and the rekindled strength asked of us to keep moving in the aftermath of its departure. Sun has a talent for affecting songwriting and her obvious folk undercurrents only lend to the warmth that’s carried in her voice and is what the song’s poignant delivery owes itself to.

“I wrote ‘The Way The Wind Blows’ 3 years ago after a significant relationship had ended.  I moved to LA and experienced many mixed emotions over choosing to follow a dream.  It’s the story of shame and sadness that followed me for months, replaced by the recognition that I am strong and brave for trusting my heart.  It honors the idea that we must follow our inner voice, always.  It may not be the easiest path, but it will help us grow. And to me, that’s what it’s all about, accepting change, learning to grow and becoming stronger for it in the end.”

Susy Sun will be playing her first headlining show for her record release at The Bootleg Theater on April 5 in Los Angeles. Visit her website and Facebook to stay updated on future releases and tour announcements.
