Charlotte OC, the U.K. newcomer currently making waves with her single “Satellite,” has released another off her upcoming EP titled “Boyfriend.” A hot-flash of suave percussion and searing vocal work, the songstress’ latest is a formidable anthem of feminine independence. Delivered in her smokey vocals, which flicker and burn at the edges from the sizzle of some seriously moody guitar riffs, “Boyfriend” has all the makings of a deliriously groovy tune. Her previous single “Satellite” was a stripped-down ballad on which the singer really let shine her powerful vocal talents, roaring in raw clarity a potent emotionality. And “Boyfriend” dedicates itself not only to danceable and flourishing melodics but also eliciting a bit of an identity and voice to peek out from behind it all.

“Boyfriend is about the dating game and the process you go through when you’re trying to find the one. And then you realise, actually I don’t evenwant a boyfriend so why am I even doing this.”
