L.A.-based Malaysian pop singer/songwriter Yuna has unveiled plans for a brief summer headline tour this July that will take her across a number of major U.S. cities including Los Angeles. Yuna will headline the Fonda Theatre Hollywood on July 25!
The tour will come on the heels of Yuna’s highly-anticipated upcoming album Rouge, of which her single “Blank Marquee” has already been shared—a track that sees Yuna sharing the moody lime-light with G-Eazy. Done in the style of late 80s and early 90s pop that Yuna herself grew-up listening to, “Blank Marquee” darts along with the zig-zagging medley of groovy guitar lines and Yuna’s luminous vocals—interceded by G-Eazy’s sharp inflections.
Yuna, born in Kedah, Malaysia and raised primarily in Kuala Lumpur, now spends time in both her home country and Los Angeles.
“I’m a Muslim singer-songwriter, but I never saw myself as that,” shares Yuna. “That label became more obvious to me as I moved to LA…it was really cool that everyone I met supported the fact that I do my own thing and don’t sacrifice my identity for the music. The whole album is about how I am with myself: I’m comfortable with my relationship, with my focus on my career. It’s the color of becoming this woman I am.” |
