Los Angeles-based jazz vocalist Samantha Sidley just announced she’ll release her debut album, ‘Interior Person’ on September 13th. But first, Sidley is grabbing our attention with her colorful single, ‘I Like Girls.’ Stream the premiere of Sidley’s new single below!

Samantha Sidley will be opening for The Bird & The Bee’s tour starting August 11th and you best believe we’ll be following her on their journey across the U.S. Sidley’s Los Angeles show date will take place on August 2 at John Anson Ford Theater.

Sporting four curlers on the left side of her head, the black and white cover photo (below) features Samantha holding a dainty white rose between her forefingers. It takes us back to the speakeasies of the 20s, a with flirtatious saxophones and crisp, expressive vocals. The song is a sophisticated and delicious ice-breaker, serving anthemic lyrical content for an evolving culture. So grab a whiskey, mind the feather boa, and sing along.

Some of the most important women in Sidley’s life came together to craft her debut album; singing songs written for her, the album features both adaptations and original co-writes from Inara George, Alex Lilly, and Sidley’s wife, Barbara Gruska.

“[They] wrote songs that are all very personal to my story – they literally are my story – and from my lesbian perspective, which I appreciate so much,” Sidley says.
