friendly fires

Ending their hiatus with their first new song in eight-years, Friendly Fires have shared the pop friendly “Silhouettes” off the upcoming album Inflorescent. A bubbly drum rattler that dips in and out of its disco dreaminess with the help of an eclectic melody—blended together in a groovy mix of horns and synth bliss. “Silhouette” itself is also a nod to the band’s musical roots—a call-back to the Brazilian disco albums Ed Macfarlane, Edd Gibson, and Jack Savidge listened to growing up.

“Silhouettes” owns an emphatic, swirling melody — a sublime entrapment that captures an anthemic nature that is viciously dance-worthy. And the single is a telling cue at how the rest of the highly anticipated album will sound: one inspired by the three friends not only looking back—but also thrusting their present selves into the moments, albums, and dance clubs that ignited them in their youth.
