Folk singer-songwriter Gavyn Bailey just delivered a refreshing single from the perspective of everyone’s turning point: ‘No Space‘ is an introspective account from the moment you realize you have to move on. At some point, we come to a spot where we look at what we’ve built, whom we’ve spent our love on, and where we’d like to go from here. Gavyn takes off the blindfold and sets course for his future in this stunning, stripped down look at what we choose to make room for in our lives.
Sweet melody lines are carried over an airy atmosphere by a honey-toned electric guitar. The verse begins in a soft battle cry, “I’ve been wasting all my time with my hands covering my eyes,” and our attention is drawn to Gavyn’s husky, emotive voice.
Fans of Billie Eilish will appreciate the amount of soul Gavyn can pack into one single word. Carried on a breath full of heart strings, he provokes our deepest subconscious as we, too, wonder what we have lent space to.
“My mind is a room I haven’t cleared out
An attic full of what I’ve always doubted
Moving onto to something new
There’s no space for you.” – Gavyn Bailey, ‘No Space‘
A natural born songwriter, Gavyn’s love for music began at an early age. At only three years old, Gavyn underwent a kidney transplant which propelled him into musician-hood: during recovery, he began teaching himself how to play instruments. He then used his experience as an avenue to inspire others going through a a rough patch, and is currently an ambassador for Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) Mental Health Initiative, aiding both children and adults through music and dialog.
Gavyn has since accrued multiple awards, a publishing deal with Warner Chapel Music, and a diverse catalogue of songs. He’s currently working on a debut EP and will be releasing singles in the coming months. At 21 years old Gavyn has mastered his craft with a delicate finesse and is entering a new era that we can’t wait to be a part of.
