Von Sell

Remixing his own single to give it more of an electro-pop punch, Brooklyn by way of Germany artist Von Sell has unveiled his “Scene of a Crime” remix in the form of new song “Crime of a Scene.” The new version kicks and writhes in all of Sell’s anxieties and fears, bathing them in a kinetic thrust of searing electronica that attempts to cauterize the wounds in dance-ready sonics. Sell’s obvious penchant for synth-powered tracks never seems to overshadow the cutting intimacy of his songs and even on his remix, which builds on the already electronically thrumming soundscape of the original, there’s an element of his own vulnerability that escapes through. The remixed track is also the third single to be released by Sell in anticipation of his upcoming new EP.

“I ended up writing a song about being in love, yet being numb at the same time. A song that makes you dance but perhaps also reflects. I think I explore pretty much every fear I have here, of not being loved, of not being able to feel, of feeling too much.”
